6-Colour Rapida Press To Boost Firm's Market Share
Swiss print provider Langenbach in Schafisheim has ordered a size six, six-colour (56-inch) Rapida 142 press with a coater and a triple extended delivery.
The decision to buy the new machine is aimed at achieving increased market share by exploiting productivity, quality and capacity gains.
The new investment follows the commissioning last month of a size seven (63.75-inch) Rapida 162 six-colour press with two coaters.
It also has such automation features that include non-stop pile feed, removal and logistics, plate changing, Qualitronic Professional in-line colour measurement and control and Densitronic dynamic density control.
Langenbach produces corrugated displays and packaging for the consumer goods industry.
Predominantly an offset operation, alongside packaging blanks and display cartons Langenbach also makes folding cartons, counter stands and presentation systems.
A long-term user of large-format KBA technology, Langenbach will take delivery of the new press in September.
Like the Rapida 162 the Rapida 142 will have quality measurement, monitoring and control, in-line sheet inspection and will be fully embedded in the firm's automated substrate logistics system.
The Lande-Langenbach group offers services and products ranging from assistance in the development of customised products to packaging and displays.
At present the group is implementing a strategic investment policy aimed at raising its competitive profile in the global marketplace and fuelling future growth.
In tandem with its sister company Lande, a specialist producer of flexo packaging and displays in Rupperswil, Langenbach offers facilities spanning flexo and offset.
The Lande-Langenbach group acquired Regia Highpack, Oensingen, a printer of paper, board and luxury packaging, which has helped to create what is described as a major packaging group with 460 employees.
