Data driven collation control for booklet makers and inserters has been released by Lake Image Systems as a standard function within its Integravision systems.

Data driven collation control for booklet makers and inserters has been released by Lake Image Systems as a standard function within its Integravision suite of camera and scanner-based integrity systems.

Collation control is claimed to enable legacy bookletmakers and mail inserters to be retrofitted to ensure all pages in every collation are in the correct order, are collated for the correct individual, whilst also verifying that the complete collations are in the correct order.

Upon verifying the integrity of each sheet and collation, Integravision triggers the accumulator to feed the complete set and begin accumulating the next.

Integravision's detailed reporting package enables the document processor to prove the integrity of their booklets and variable page count inserts, said Lake.

According to Pat Hoskins, vice president of sales and marketing, said: "OMR scanners do not provide integrity to ensure that all pieces in a collation are for the correct individual and that all sets in a production run are processed properly.

Integravision's collation control tool replaces legacy codes such as OMR and page counters to ensure that each page and each collation are produced and accumulated without any missing, duplicate or out-of-order pieces." He added: "The collation control tool is simply another software tool in our Integravision system.

It can be used simultaneously with additional cameras and additional software tools on the same Integravision system for applications such as multiple piece matching, postnet quality verification, base stock verification, postal tray and bundle break sorting, archiving of camera images and production integrity reporting.".
