System ensures correct stock use

A Lake Image Systems, Inc. product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jan 29, 2009

Lake Image Systems has launched a base stock verification system, to assure cut sheet printers that the proper stock is being used for every print job.

The system employs a camera, which mounts on the output or inside the printer.

It can be used to verify variable data and stock paper characteristics to ensure the correct data is printed on the proper form stock.

The camera system eliminates rework, increases productivity and eliminates potential liability should data from one company be printed on another's stock.

The base stock verification system can also simultaneously ensure that no pieces are missing or duplicated in a production run.

Lake Image Systems vice-president, Pat Hoskins, says: 'The base stock verification system can easily be installed to upgrade most existing cut sheet printers.

'Printers using the new system and running statements for several businesses, for example, can rest assured that the proper letterhead has been used to print each job.
