Asian Labelexpo Drawing Worldwide Visitors
Labelexpo Asia 2005, taking place at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre from December 7-9, is not only attracting visitors from within China but also from right across the region.
The pavilion attracted a large number of visitors all interested in connecting with suppliers of RFID and other smart technologies.
The seminar day, which was completely sold out, comprised of sessions covering the demand for 'smarter' products, inlcuding smart labels and RFID in practice and the opportunities available in smart labels.
In addition, a four-hour master class was run by Mike Fairley that provided a guide for smart label designers, label converters and users on how to manufacture, convert and supply RFID and smart labels to customers.
The seminars, organised in association with FINAT, were very well attended with subjects covering global trends in the labelling industry and the labels industry in emerging markets.
Thomas Rohweder, from Raflatac, gave the opening keynote address on advances and trends in paper, film, VIP and RFID.
In conjunction with 4-Impressions, for the first time master classes were also organised for brand owners and end-users.
Roger Pellow, Labelexpo's managing director, said: "Labelexpo Europe 2005 delivered exactly what we had promised - more visitors than ever before, from a wider range of countries than ever before and more exhibitors than before.
The sow provided more opportunities to learn about what's hot in the industry, especially RFID and smart labels and, of course, the best opportunity there is in the industry to do business and network.
We are very pleased with the way the show went and we are already looking forward to Labelexpo Europe 2007, for which we already have 80 per cent of the show sold out." He added: "The label business is healthy and growing steadily, as the show demonstrated last week and we at Labelexpo are constantly working with the industry to further develop that growth in key areas and in strategic emerging markets.
Our global series of summits in India, Japan, Latin America, South East Asia have worked to advance the industry in those regions and also to encourage attendance at our three key shows in Europe, America and China.
Numerous alliances have been formed between label printers and converters following our summits in the emerging markets and, excitingly, we have received news that an alliance between a Mexican and a Spanish printer resulted in a machine sale at the show in Europe.
By progressing and developing our events across the globe and by keeping close to our market, Labelexpo will continue to grow alongside, and with, the labels industry.".
