Label Summit Japan, taking place at the Tokyo International Forum on April 25-26 2006, will feature a high level conference on the impact of world label trends on the Japanese label industry.

It will be supported by a tabletop exhibition with exhibitors including leading names in labels.

Leading industry suppliers such as Gallus, Gidue, HP Indigo, Lintec, Mark Andy, MPS, Nilpeter, and Omet will all be taking part in the exhibition.

The event is supported by The Label Shimbun and by Japan Federation of Label Printing Industries (JFLP).

According to the summit's organiser, Labelexpo, Japan is opening up to international investment for the first time and with 52 per cent of the Asian label market, and the largest label consumption in the world after America, Japan is a key place for the global labels industry to congregate and discuss the opportunities and potential the country offers.

At the same time, Labelexpo beleives it is time for local converters to invest in new printing technology to keep up with the rapidly growing, and fast changing, film printing and converting applications, along with learning how to comply with the latest waste and environmental legislation.

Three hundred delegates are expected to attend the conference to hear about the latest developments in label technology and markets.

The conference programme will highlight: Japanese label and film converting industry trends; developments in digital pre-press and plate technology; UV flexo and digital printing of film; environmental and legislative changes; smart and security label solutions and brand owners' future requirements.

Japanese label printers will have the opportunity to hear from brand-owners, leading Japanese converters, and industry commentators, such as Mike Fairley and Andy Thomas.

In addition, the JFLP will give the keynote presentation and Label Shimbun will offer an insight in to Japanese label market.

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo's managing director, said: "Japan is a unique country with a successful national labels industry looking to embrace and move forwards with the latest label technology, and also towards international growth.

Label Summit Japan is the only dedicated international label conference in Japan for UV flexo technology and digital printing.

The event is going to be a great opportunity to hear case studies and expert opinions and to help people make the right choice for their businesses in order to reap the rewards from increased productivity and profits.

At Labelexpo we are very excited to be moving in to Japan and are looking forward to another successful label summit as part of our global series.".
