Xaar's piezoelectric printheads will be included in the worldwide launch of a number of inkjet printing systems at Labelexpo, which will run from September 26 - 29 in Brussels (Belgium).

Nilpeter will introduce a four-colour inkjet printer called Caslon at the show.

Using the Xaar 1001 printhead, the Caslon is said to print from 25 metres per minute to 50 metres per minute, depending on the choice of greyscale levels.

The company claimed that such performance makes the Caslon one of the industry's fastest UV inkjet printers.

In support of its partners' launch events Xaar said it will demonstrate the productivity, quality and reliability of the 1001 head, with UV ink.

The variable drop (greyscale) printhead is based on Xaar's patented Hybrid Side-Shooter with TF technology.

The combination of those features is said by the company to be suitable for single-pass printing, producing fine details, smooth tones and readable text consistently.

Phil Eaves, Xaar's sales and marketing director, commented: "The launch of PAT Technology Systems' Rotoworx machine at Labelexpo last year was the start of the shift in the label market.

High-speed quality printing on a moving web with all the benefits of no make-ready, variable data capability and fast production is perfect for the fast-growing short-run market.

The fact that several leading companies are launching and demonstrating systems at Labelexpo is a great endorsement for our technology.".
