A new offset-flexo machine, the Xpannd from Gidue will be unveiled at the Labelexpo Europe 2007 exhibition on stand 6H90.

The Xpannd is claimed to provide high-end wine and cosmetics labels revealing the potential of combined in-line printing.

The company will demonstrate Expannd with in-line hot stamping, silk screen, flat embossing and cold foil.

The new, gearless hot stamping unit can be equipped with engraved brass sleeves, magnetic plate sleeves or magnesium plate sleeves.

The unit is mounted on guides for extraction, in case of quick job-change or cleaning and features a motorised printing pressure system that automatically regulates the pressure to be applied on to the web, depending on the variations of the substrate width.

A video inspection monitors the ink in-line density and the printing consistency during operation, ensuring the control of all variables, in case any change occurs.

The flat embossing unit is provided of web-buffer rollers that absorb elastically the deformations on the substrate caused by the converting process, said Gidue.
