Liberty Alliance, the global non-profit organisation, has demonstrated further progress in its commitment to developing an open standard for federated network identity including standards for Digital Rights Management through two key announcements Seven new members including Adobe, Telewest Broadband, Opennetwork Technologies, Senforce Technologies and DAI-Labor have joined the organisation

And Donal O'Shea has been appointed executive director - a position created to help ensure the long-term management and success of Liberty Alliance.

Working with the Liberty Alliance, Adobe will strengthen document security by adding federated identities, making it easier for businesses to employ document services for meeting compliance and regulatory mandates to protect individual privacy.

Because everyone involved with the Liberty Alliance have positions within their respective member companies, the appointment of Donal O'Shea as full-time executive director will ensure Liberty Alliance continues to drive adoption of common and accessible digital identity standards for more open and better integrated IT networks.
