Magpowr, a provider of web tension and torque control systems, has launched its Digital Tension Meter to display web tension in areas of the web where access to a tension control unit is not required or convenient for the operator.

The Digital Tension Meter (DTM) features a LCD readout with 0.6" (15.2mm) red digits and a selectable decimal point.

A plastic case and sealed front panel are said to ensure operation in wash-down or dusty environments.

The DTM features DIN rail mounts and simplified wiring connections for easy installation, added the company.

Maxcess International said that Magpowr introduced magnetic particle clutches and brakes to the web converting industry in 1967.

Today, along with Fife (guiding and inspection) and Tidland (slitting and winding) they are part of a family of companies serving converters, packaging facilities, paper mills and printers.

In addition, Maxcess International said it is also spearheading on-line training through its Tech Tips e-seminars and training modules.
