New Version Adobe File Conversion Plug-In Software

A Markzware Europe product story

Markzware has released an update of Q2ID (v2) for QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign.

Markzware has released an update of Q2ID (v2) for QuarkXPress to Adobe InDesign.

It is an Adobe InDesign plug-in and requires an installed and supported version of Adobe InDesign v3 (CS) or v4 (CS2) prior to installing Q2ID.

The upgrade is claimed to enable QuarkXPress files from version 3.3 to 7.0 to be converted for use with InDesign CS or CS2.

Q2ID (v2) is described as a one-stop system that imports the majority of the original QuarkXPress features and settings intact in to a InDesign file.

Patrick Marchese, president of Markzware, said: "Q2ID (v2) is a noticeable time-saver that reduces the daunting process of re-keyboarding and formatting data.

Creating a data conversion tool is technically very difficult and whenever data is converted we suggest that the user proof their work before printing." Clint Funk of Funk and Associates, a print production workflow consultancy, said: "Q2ID (v2) is a big time saver.

I've helped hundreds of companies make the Quark to InDesign transition.

Without Q2ID it was a matter of back-saving to Quark 4 and often the client didn't have all the versions, particularly Quark 5.

Now even Quark 7 files can be converted directly.

I love it." Some of the items that Q2ID will convert in to InDesign include fonts and style sheets, linked images and graphics, colour blends, linked and anchored text boxes, CMYK specifications, Pantone selections and other colour models and page positioning, said Markzware.
