QuarkXPress-Adobe InDesign File Conversion Easier

A Markzware Europe product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Jul 24, 2007

Converting QuarkXPress documents in to Adobe InDesign files without having to struggle to re-create intricate content is claimed to be possible with the QuarkXPress To InDesign (Q2ID) Conversion Tool.

The 2QID Conversion Tool from Markzware also now supports InDesign v5 (CS3).

The document conversion tool is said to save time scanning, re-keying and formatting as it converts and transforms files created with QuarkXPress on Microsoft Windows and Apple Macintosh systems in to new Adobe InDesign files.

Users with QuarkXPress v3.3 through to 7.x files can convert those products with the Q2ID plug-in that supports Adobe InDesign v5 (CS3) files.

Michael Deme, editor of Adventure Cyclist Magazine, said: "Markzware's Q2ID product has been a real time saver for our production staff.

For people who prefer using Adobe InDesign over QuarkXPress, it is a tremendous benefit to be able to convert an XPress document for updating versus recreating the InDesign document from scratch.

And its ease of use is an added benefit.

I'm glad we have Q2ID in our production toolkit." According to Becky Pronia, art director of Brown Derby International Wine Centre: "Having Q2ID meant that when I switched to InDesign I didn't have to worry about rebuilding all of the magazine pages I had built in QuarkXpress.

All I have to do is open the file and it's automatically converted to the format I need.

I never even have to think about the program.

I loaded it once and it's been saving my hide with fast conversions ever since.".
