The Leeds Guide is an entertainment and leisure magazine published in the expanding English city and LiteFX iss aid to make colours stand out with extra vibrancy.

The Leeds Guide became interested in the technique after seeing the colours in the UK magazines Design Week and Creative Review.

The publishers then approached their regular printer, Duffields in Leeds, who invested in MetalFX last year.

Published fortnightly, The Leeds Guide has a growing readership of over 40,000 people across Leeds and West Yorkshire.

The magazine reaches a target audience of socially active, highly influential 18-35 year olds with a high disposable income.

The publisher employs a diverse marketing team that quickly saw the opportunities provided by MetalFX said Sarah Hallam, the sales executive at The Leeds Guide.

She commented: "We knew as soon as we saw samples of MetalFX that the colours and effects would give The Leeds Guide that extra edge to make it really stand out from the competition on the news stand.

There is nothing else like it out there, so it is ideal for our magazine." MetalFX is a printing process that has won a number of awards (such as the National Business Award and International Business Award, both for innovation).

It enables the printing of hundreds of different metallic colours - all by adding just one extra ink to the usual four colours used in printing said the company.

Andrew Ainge, the managing director of MetalFX Technology, which is also based in Leeds, commented on the Leeds Guide covers: "Doing a split run of two covers, each with a different set of metallic covers, would not have been viable before the dawn of MetalFX.

The Leeds Guide looks tremendous and joins the ranks alongside the best examples of MetalFX so far." The MetalFX edition of The Leeds Guide went on sale yesterday.
