Metallic Ink Success Leads To Flexo
System Launch
Metallic printing for the flexographic process will be launched at Drupa 2008 when MetalFX Technology shows the MetalFX system at the show.
The company said that it expects the flexo version of MetalFX to be particularly popular amongst label and package printers, as it provides a lower cost alternative to foil stamping and metallic substrates, whilst giving enhanced pack design capabilities The MetalFX process is claimed to permit the consistent printing of millions of metallic colours
The flexo variant was developed following the success of the original system with lithographic printers.
MetalFX managing director, Andrew Ainge, said: "On our stand at Drupa, stand D17 in Hall 15, we will have flexographic printed examples of MetalFX labels and packages, as well as swatch books from which designers and pre-press workers can select appropriate colours.
MetalFX Version 2, for lithographic printers, remains unchanged.".
