Award winning printer TJ International has announced that it has been able to reduce alcohol consumption from 10.5 per cent down to three per cent following a year long project.
The presses will be supplied with with a fully-automated Aurosys reel handling system.
According to MAN Roland, News International is planning a new era of print quality, colour and productivity for its titles, including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Sun and News of the World.
Wolfgang Malcher, area sales manager at MAN Roland, said: "We've been receiving one delegation after the other in Augsburg from News International wanting to see their presses being manufactured and test prints of all their products." One delegation came from The Times and was headed by Leslie Hinton, the Chief Executive Officer of News International.
Eike Buhring, is the deputy technical manager of the Augsburger Allgemeine's printing operations in Germany, where five MAN Roland presses are to be installed by the end of 2006.
He commented: "The fact that we are trail-blazers for international newspaper groups makes us rather proud.
Our productivity is high and our print quality is excellent.".
