New Press Prints Commercial Jobs During Training
Gateshead (UK) NW Printers has its 18,000 sheets per hour MAN Roland R500 press up and running and already working a double-day shift.
Prior to this appointment, Dave Charlton was a worldwide specialist with H and H folding equipment.
His new role will mean that he spends the majority of his time working in the UK.
According to MAN Roland, Charlton is well known in the industry for his knowledge in the field of specialist finishing.
He commented: "GUK equipment has always been technically good, and was always seen as a rival to H and H products.
However, historically, the build quality of GUK products was never as robust.
That changed with a range of product designs that were introduced some 18 to 24 months ago.
The current range of equipment is, quite simply, as good as it gets.
My task now is to ensure that trade finishers, printers, and mailing houses in the UK understand how good GUK folding equipment is." Products from GUK cover the range of folding requirements, from specialist mini-folding products to standard equipment for magazines and bookwork.
For bespoke applications, Dave Charlton will make recommendations to GUK as to how to adapt existing product to complete the task, added MAN Roland.
Charlton added: "The time is right for GUK equipment to stake a major claim in the industry.
With my specialist knowledge coupled with MAN Roland's sales and service skills we have the very best opportunity to do that.".
