The Colour Digital Printing Company has invested in both a MAN Roland Dicopress 500 and an HP Indigo Press 1000.

Dicopress 500 provides perfected four-colour web based printing on 500mm width stock.

The dry toner electro photography imaging system provided a resolution of 2400dpi.

The image is created using a recording head consisting of 11,520 LEDs projecting onto the light-sensitive coating of an OPC drum, and removing the electric charge on the drum.

A microfine toner is applied to the drum and then transferred to the stock.

Dicopress operates at a roll speed of up to 12.25cm per second, which corresponds with a throughput of up to 3,900 A4 pages per hr, perfected.

The press can handle substrates from 80gsm to 250gsm.

MAN Roland's Dicostream 3.0 drives the press.

This can also be used to prepare work in remote locations, with final files then being transmitted to the press via ISDN.
