New Press Prints Commercial Jobs During Training
Gateshead (UK) NW Printers has its 18,000 sheets per hour MAN Roland R500 press up and running and already working a double-day shift.
McLeod commented: "The opportunity to join MAN Roland came at just the right time for me, having made the decision to return to Scotland to live.
I firmly believe that printers will appreciate the appointment of a Scottish-based representative - it shows that the supplier is really committed to the market." He added: "Certainly the range of sheet-fed and finishing equipment available through MAN Roland GB is second to none, so I am really looking forward to the opportunity of meeting some old industry friends and, of course, many new one's, and explaining the benefits of these products." A time-served litho printer, McLeod began his capital equipment sales career with Heidelberg in Scotland in 1990.
He has also worked with Komori and most recently with Goss.
Commenting on Ian McLeod's appointment, Gary Doman, sheet-fed and finishing equipment sales director for MAN Roland GB, said: "Whilst we had been providing sales cover for Scotland, we really did need someone to be based in the territory to help us to lift the MAN Roland profile north of the border.
Ian has the sales experience and the credibility that are essential ingredients for this task." He added: "He also has the technical knowledge required to undertake this demanding role, and we are looking forward to hearing plenty of good news from Scotland in the coming months.".
