MAN Roland GB has announced the promotion of John Ellis to the role of director of web sales with effect from October 1.

MAN Roland GB has announced the promotion of John Ellis to the role of director of web sales with effect from October 1.

The announcement follows the appointment of the company's former web division director Norman Revill to the position of managing director at MAN Roland GB at the beginning of August.

Ellis has been working with the company for six years, during which time he has established himself as an exceptional sales manager in the heatset market place, said MAN Roland.

He will be responsible for all equipment sales within the web division, as well as his continued responsibility for the sale of heatset web presses.

Commenting on the appointment, Norman Revill said: "Having worked with John for several years I know that he is ideally suited to this more demanding role.

He has helped to firmly establish MAN Roland as the supplier of choice within the heatset market, and I am confident that he will have an equally impressive impact on the coldset sector.

I wish him every success in this new position." With regard to his promotion, Ellis commented: "I am delighted to have been offered this new role within MAN Roland GB, and I am already looking forward to the new and exciting challenges that it offers, and especially to working together with the great sales, service and marketing teams that we already have in place.

MAN Roland has achieved significant sales success in all sectors of the web press market in recent years, and it is my task to ensure that the company remains the number one supplier here in the UK." Ellis has 20 years of industry experience, which began at Cooper Clegg, where he achieved number one minder status, prior to a move in to capital equipment sales with Oscar Friedheim, where he worked for two years before moving to MAN Roland GB in 2000.
