Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team May 1, 2007

MAN Roland GB launched its 'trim your costs' promotion at Northprint, providing a finance and support package for the guillotine.

The company's finance plan provides a printer with a fixed cost over a five-year period for Wohlenberg guillotine equipment, backed with a five-year warranty and free health and safety maintenance checks.

Wohlenberg guillotines available through the MAN Roland GB package include models from 76cm to 185cm.

All feature the latest touch screen control and are said to be suitable for integration in to a JDF network.

Roger Cartwright, director of finishing sales for Wohlenberg and post-press products at MAN Roland, said: "A guillotine is an essential piece of equipment for every print business.

This finance package ensures that a printer can enjoy the benefits of new, latest technology cutting equipment for a known, fixed amount each month.

It makes it very easy to budget for and, for many printers, the new equipment will significantly enhance productivity within the cutting area." And he added: "To help ensure trouble free cutting for five years we have including a parts and labour warranty within the package and we will also provide health and safety maintenance visits from our qualified engineers, to help ensure that a printer is cutting in safety." The package can also include a full paper handling system from Baumann to further aid productive cutting.

Cartwright explained: "We have proved to many printers that paper handling systems really can make a significant difference to guillotine performance.

It helps to ensure faster cutting and movement of paper and reduces fatigue for the operator.

A full paper handling system also drastically reduces operator injury.".
