Pre-press and finishing equipment can also be cleaned with the product without harming product surfaces.

Chris Whalley, director of consumables sales at MAN Roland GB, said: "Printers are under increasing pressure to find alternatives to solvent-based products.
Many printers are still using solvent-based cleaners on their presses and these are of course flammable and have very strong odours.
Such factors make them difficult to store and unpleasant to use." He explained: "Some printers have made the move towards safer cleaners but are now using chemical cleaners that contain caustic.
These products can be very good cleaners but will, in the long term, damage the press and many other surfaces found in the press hall.
They can also cause skin burns and irritations and some of these products are only suitable for use in well ventilated areas because of the strong odours they produce." Whalley added that MAN Roland's new product cleans oil-based inks, water-based inks, grease, grime and oily deposits without any harmful effects, whilst also cleaning a variety of different surfaces found in the typical pressroom, including metal, aluminium, glass, rubber and plastic.
And he said: "Side Frame Cleaner is a product that is not only very easy and pleasant to use but is safe for the environment, the operative, the press and it is a chemical that does not produce any hazardous or dangerous waste deposits.".
