Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Feb 26, 2008

With what it described as an eagerness to contribute its UV knowledge, press manufacturer, MAN Roland, has joined the printing industry initiative for standardisation of UV and hybrid applications.

MAN Roland said it is keen to support further developments in standardisation, as well as optimisation of equipment and materials in the UV printing sector.

The company added that its membership was confirmed in a joint letter of intent signed by all three members of the initiative - MAN Roland, Heidelberg and Koenig and Bauer (KBA) - at the druckforum in Stuttgart (Germany).

The document formulates the objectives of the cooperation in the field of certification and validation of equipment and materials for UV printing.

The establishment of universally applicable standards for UV and hybrid printing is very important to MAN Roland, said the company, which added that it will work within the initiative to achieve standardisation in UV and hybrid applications.

MAN Roland believes those activities are compatible with its value added printing philosophy, which is intended to provide printing companies and print buyers with the best systems for production efficiency and product value.
