New Press Prints Commercial Jobs During Training
Gateshead (UK) NW Printers has its 18,000 sheets per hour MAN Roland R500 press up and running and already working a double-day shift.

MAN Roland said that it is the only press manufacturer in the world to offer customers a universal press platform encompassing formats from B3 through to XXL.
It is claimed that with the Roland 50 printers can produce work on a new level and secure new business deals because of the press's print quality and printing substrate flexibility.
Double-size impression cylinders and transferters ensure mark-free sheet travel.
Substrates of 0.04mm to 0.8mm can be processed, freeing the printer of cumbersome restrictions.
The company added that the press's modular design, one-man ease of use, automation and optional network connections are also features of the Roland 50.
Klemens Kemmerer, director of research and development at MAN Roland, said: "For many years, further development of smaller presses was also a case of thinking in small categories.
We wanted to integrate the quality features of our large presses in to the Roland 50 and open up new perspectives for printers in the 36/52 format class." Gary Doman, MAN Roland GB's sales director, added: "This will be a well-made machine with high-end press features, that is likely to be suitable for those companies specialising in the B3 market and for larger printers looking to add a small format capability." The Roland 50 will be seen on the MAN Roland stand at Drupa 2008 - stand D28 in hall 6.
