The Globe and Mail, Canada's national newspaper, is upgrading its newspaper publishing workflow with PPI Media, a subsidiary of Man Roland.

At project end, all editions of The Globe and Mail will be planned with PPI's planning system, Planpag, creating a smooth, pre-press production workflow system.

The company's editorial and advertising booking systems will be integrated via modern interfaces.

'With PPI Media's publishing systems we will streamline our publishing workflow on a long-term basis and create a stable basis for it in the future,' said Sally Pirri, director of production at The Globe and Mail.

'The open system architecture of the PPI system will allow flexible enhancement of our system in the ad, editorial and pre-press sectors.

The Globe and Mail is a division of CTVglobemedia.
