Colorman XXL reduces plate changing times

A MAN Roland GB product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Mar 10, 2010

MAN Roland has announced that the Colorman XXL, with two printing towers and Autoprint equipment, is to be installed at Herold Druck in Vienna.

Once the press is installed, the automatic plate-loading system with its robotic arms will reduce plate changing times to a minimum, said MAN Roland.

The Inline Control Systems Quickstart for pre-inking, Inline Cutoff Control for automatic cut-off register control, Inlinetension Control for web tension, and Inline Temperature Control for ink and dampening solution, will ensure consistent quality and faster production with much less start-up waste, claims MAN Roland.

The press will be prepared for APL logistics, the plate logistics system, to be retrofitted.

The six-page wide newspaper web press will commence production at Herold Druck at the end of 2010.

Herold Druck specialises in printing newspapers and supplements and has relied on printing technology and project management from MAN Roland for 17 years.
