Sheeter Handles Coated Film At High Speeds
Manufacturers of coated film plastic can now sheet the product at higher speeds than conventional drop shear equipment, ensuring the square, accurate dimensions required by the printing industry.
It utilises a roll stand with line guidance capabilities, a scanner to detect registration marks and an electronic drive system that holds the cut tolerance to within +0.006 of an inch (+0.15mm) of the register mark regardless of line speed or cut-off.
The drive provides an offset parameter to position the cut from the mark, whilst the sheeter also has manual operator over-ride and programmed rejection of out of tolerance lengths.
Maxson added that the sheeter can be outfitted with a 'continuous run' feature that avoids stopping the unit when making skid changes.
That permits the sheeter to be put in-line with a printing press.
Available in widths up to 65" (1,651mm) the Cut to Register sheeter has a repeat of between 11" - 65" (280mm - 1,651mm) long.
