Tag Inserter For Rotary Sheeters And Presses

A Maxson Automatic Machinery Company product story
Edited by the Printingtalk editorial team Nov 12, 2007

Maxson Automatic Machinery has introduced a pneumatically actuated tag inserter that is claimed to provide a dependable actuation of the tag feed out and tag cut off.

Compressed air passes through an adjustable flow control valve and actuating an air cylinder, feeds out six inches (150mm) of tag stock.

When the solenoid on the system is de-energised, after a dwell time that allows a few sheets to gather on top of the tag, the cylinder which fed the stock out, retracts, cutting the tag off.

Maxson said that the tag inserters can be mounted on rotary sheeters and printing presses.

Because of the claimed compact design, the units can be placed in tight quarters in various positions.

The narrow snout of the tag inserter permits access in difficult to reach applications.

Using a counter-multiplier, at a preset count a solenoid is activated that initiates the tag insertion, ensuring an accurate count within the pile, it is claimed.
