With over 3,000 visitors from 56 countries, the ICE international converting show in Munich (Germany) was a success, claimed Meech Static Eliminators.
Static Eliminators Good For Hazardous Print Areas
The new 976Ex and 915Ex Meech static elimination systems are certified by Baseefa to comply with Article 9 of the Council Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) for use in hazardous areas.
With such high level of demand, smooth production running is essential, but print production manager, Scott Turner, had been experiencing major issues with static on the company's Heidelberg 2-colour Sorm-z litho press.
Although static elimination equipment had been fitted, it was not solving the problems that were occurring particularly with 80gsm and 100gsm normal bond papers.
When printing these weights the static was so severe that the machine would not deliver the paper after it was printed, causing jams.
Heidelberg recommended that Turner should contact Meech Static Eliminators whose application specialist, Mark Jones, visited Whitegrove to assess the situation.
He fitted a demonstration Meech system to the machine on the spot.
Turner commented: "The effect was absolutely dramatic.
When the Meech bars were turned on, the paper delivered smoothly out of the machine.
When they were turned off, the static returned, the paper stuck together and the machine jammed." Thoroughly convinced by this demonstration, Whitegrove ordered the equipment immediately and has been more than satisfied with its operation ever since.
"Meech was really helpful and gave really good, unbiased technical advice and provided the right solution to our problem.
I only wish I had spoken to Meech before," said Turner. Request a free brochure from Meech International ...
