Static Control System Proven In Gravure Printing
The Meech Model 986 Feedback system has been installed in a number of factories for automatically controlling the problems of static and has been proven in slitting, rewinding and gravure printing.
Meech claimed that unlike other products that merely provide static 'reporting', the 986 DC Feedback System automatically optimises static charge removal by sensing the residual charge on the target material and reacting to it.
That means that the static control system can operate at optimum performance under a range of conditions without the need for operator intervention.
The new 976Ex and 915Ex are advances on existing Meech products and are certified by Baseefa to comply with Article 9 of the Council Directive 94/9/EC (ATEX) for use in hazardous areas.
They are said to be suitable for coating, laminating, finishing and gravure printing applications, where the highest safety standards are mandatory.
The Model 915Ex AC system is said to provide the same level of performance as the 915 AC bar, whilst the Model 976Ex Pulsed DC Bar provides effective long range ionisation up to distances of 600mm, added the company.
Meech will also be contributing to the ICE Technical Congress by presenting a paper entitled 'Web Cleaning and Static Control Issues in Self-Adhesive Tape Manufacture'.
Alan Chadwick, the business development manager at Meech will consider web contamination and static charge issues arising in each of the major process stages of self-adhesive tape production - for instance, the manufacture of stock material, coating and converting.
In particular the presentation will highlight the problems that contamination and uncontrolled static charge can cause, the solutions that are currently available and the benefits that will accrue from their implementation. Request a free brochure from Meech International ...
