Meech International's new 983v2 Static Locator is described as a lightweight, pocket-sized device that provides a measurement of static electrical charges over a range of voltages.

The locator has been developed for use on any material where static is an issue, said the company The Model 983v2 Static Locator features a continuous mode that can measure fluctuations in charge levels, whilst the highest charge can be detected with the peak hold mode enabled, said Meech

With an integral distance meter, an indication of the correct operating range is given and that means that all readings will be accurate and consistent.

The company added that for further versatility, there is a large, high contrast LCD screen with digital display that allows the locator to be used in all lighting conditions.

The unit is also said to have a fast response time, low drift and intuitive operation.

Measurement range of the new locator is -200kV to +200kV at a distance of 150mm, with a resolution of 100V and an accuracy of better than + or - five per cent on calibration.

All units are supplied with an individual calibration certificate for QC records.
