M-real has introduced Simcastor Flex, a paper for flexible packaging developed for demanding rotogravure printing The latest member of the renewed Simcastor product family is a one-side coated supercalendered bleached kraft paper for flexible packaging, with excellent functional and visual properties

M-real said that it strives to address product issues that are most relevant to the competitiveness of its customers and it believes that visual properties and functions in different converting processes are a must.

Accordingly, new Simcastor Flex is claimed to perform reliably in production and enables designs that appeal to consumers.

Simcastor Flex has been developed especially for demanding rotogravure printing.

It is a safe packaging material, approved for food packaging (Bfr, FDA) and manufactured according to HACCP hygiene standards.

It is said to be suitable for dry foods and beverages, crispbread, chocolate and confectionery, pet foods, cigarettes, and pharmaceutical and healthcare products.

Simcastor Flex ES provides extra stiffness needed in, for instance, yoghurt banderols, added M-real.

Simcastor Label and Simcastor Base have also been renewed.

Simcastor Label, with improved whiteness, is claimed to offer good printability in offset printing, as well as smooth processing and labelling.

Simcastor Base, now with improved brightness and bulk, is also claimed to provide runability and good lay-flat properties, as well as good printability on the reverse side.

Simcastor Plus, which has remained unchanged, is said to be suitable for flexible packaging.
