Zanders Trevi is a new uncoated label paper from M-real that is claimed to combine printing and finishing qualities with a distinctive look and feel.

Zanders Trevi is a new uncoated label paper from M-real that is claimed to combine printing and finishing qualities with a distinctive look and feel M-real said that Zanders Trevi labelstock is suitable for premium drinks ranges, wines and spirits and is especially suitable for embossing and foil blocking due to its high bulk properties

The range has been developed by the producers of Chromolux cast-coated labels, supplied to the bottling and packaging industry for nearly 50 years, added the company.

There are three finishes in the Zanders Trevi range - wove, with a smooth surface that lends itself to modern designs, Verge, which has a highly tactile, embossed linear pattern and Laid, with more traditional, integral laid lines, said the company.

All finishes come in two colours, natural white and premium white and in substances of 80gsm and 90gsm.

M-real said it has carefully selected the raw fibre materials and technical processes used in the production of Zanders Trevi labels.

That results in hat is claimed to be excellent printability and brilliant colour reproduction, combined with high opacity.

Characteristics include good print-out of both solid and fine screened areas, with resistance to rub-off and scratching, along with fast ink-drying due to a minimum ph-value of 7.3.

The labels also have very good runnability on the press and suitability for gold bronzing, added the company.

The wove finish is designed to offer no difference in printability between either side of the paper.

Zanders Trevi labelstock is also said to perform well in the converting and labelling process.

It is claimed to be suitable for foil stamping or embossing, with high volume for deep stamping, good workability for sharp edged stamping and little reversion after labelling.

If die cutting or punching, Zanders Trevi produces a smooth and dust free cut, optimal flatness, is burr free with no blocking and gives continuous glide-through.

M-real also added that with no abrasive pigments, Zanders Trevi prolongs the life of cutting tools and requires only a low punching pressure.

In the labelling process, Zanders Trevi is said to display tolerant curl behaviour, good separation from the magazine and fast adhesion to the bottle.

It has an optimised reverse side for labelling and for water absorption.

The stock is claimed to tolerate a range of labelling speeds and will sit on the bottle without winging, rolling or moving.

Its wetness and alkaline resistance make it suitable for both non-returnable and returnable bottles, added the company.

Zanders Trevi labelstock comes in two sizes: 52cm x 72cm LG and 72cm x 102cm LG, either ream wrapped or bulk packed.

It is available out of production or on slitter reels.

Special sizes are also available on request.
