Print, Paper And Admin Costs Biggest Concerns
New research has found that print and paper prices, as well as administration costs are the biggest issues facing the print industry.
Before the agreement Miles 33 had a clustered installation hosting 130 dailies and weeklies for Gatehouse Media New England with satellite production facilities around the region for advertisement creation, classified page make-up and retail layout.
The success of the Miles 33 installation at Gatehouse Media New England was a strong factor leading to the preferred supplier agreement, said Miles 33.
Paul Ameden, chief information officer for Gatehouse Media, commented: "Our need to cluster newspapers within regional data centres led us to Miles 33.
Miles has a strong track record for supporting multiple weeklies and dailies on a single data centre and the three dailies mentioned will sit on a Rochester, New York data centre, whilst all personnel will reside at their local facilities." Michael Moore, Miles 33's chief executive officer, said: "Not only are we delighted with our new arrangement with Gatehouse Media but it is a clear vote of confidence by the company, based on our earlier success in New England.".
