The new UJF-605CII is equipped with new high speed print heads that are claimed to enable printing twice as fast as the previous model.
The UJF-605CII is said to be suitable for a wider range of printing jobs from samples creation to full-scale production.
In addition, a newly developed clear liquid gives a high-gloss finish for design options, said the company.
With the increased production capacity, direct printing on a range of products is made more attractive than in the past, believes Mimaki.
Mimaki introduced its first UV-curable inkjet printer received praise as an on-demand printer for high quality printing on various kinds of uneven and irregular materials by non-contact printing.
Its claimed high resolution of 1,200 dots per inch (dpi) and opaque white ink is said to enable vivid images and colour contrast by backing print on transparent or coloured substrates.
The system uses UV-curable ink that is free of volatile organic chemicals (VOCs).
The ink is claimed to increase the choice of materials for printing.
Direct printing is possible on PET, PP, polycarbonate and ABS resin, said Mimaki.
The opaque white ink is used as backing print on transparent or coloured substrates, for claimed vivid images and contrast.
A clear coating gives a high-gloss finish, increasing colour-fastness and protecting the print surface, added the company.
The machine's vacuum system holds materials flat and stationary, keeping them fixed, so accurate printing is possible, even on heavy or easily misaligned materials.
The materials can be arranged independently and accurate positioning is possible, which enables simultaneous printing on multiple materials.
The electronically controlled vacuum table is also said to allow any user to adjust head height for various materials.
Printing is possible directly on materials up to 50mm (1.96") in thickness.
