Leeds Printer Follows Mitsubishi Press Trend
LEA Printers in Kent has ordered its first press from Mitsubishi Lithographic Printing Presses in Leeds.
As a first step, the RSP system can be used on the coating unit of all B2 presses (1F or 1G series as well as Diamond 1000), the next development will be the B1 size.
The system will be available in all countries, not only in the UK and in the Republic of Ireland.
The first job to demonstrate the integration of the CITO system and the Diamond 1000-6+C in Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses' showroom was a CD-cover, with a reply card attached to it.
Whilst the cover was creased to be fold precisely, the perforation allows the easy separation of the card.
Besides creasing and perforating the system also allows to die cut in-line.
The impression cylinder is always protected with a steel foil glued on it, which ensures precise operation and takes out the risk of scratches on the cylinder surface.
John Bray, managing director of CITO UK, said: "We are delighted to have Mitsubishi as our partner.
As we witness more presses being installed in the United Kingdom, we appreciate the business opportunities.
We are also delighted by the strong mechanical design and the ability to even crease cardboard of 400 microns perfectly at high speed." Thomas Doliwa, the managing director of Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses UK and and Ireland is looking forward to the future cooperation with CITO.
He said: "After some discussion in the German headquarters and here in Leeds, we started to have a smooth and professional relationship.
We hope to do the next steps fast to offer our customers the opportunity of adding more value to their print jobs with a reasonable and modest investment.
But this cooperation also shows very clearly that we are integrating step-by-step in to the European printing presses arena.".
