1980 was also the year when printing and direct mail specialist Eamonn Burke started working with Moore Corporation, the UK printing and direct mail company.
Today, Moore Response Marketing is the UK and Europe has developed as part of one of the world's largest printing companies, RR Donnelley.
With his experience and industry know-how, Burke, as the company's UK sales director, is now in the driving seat to steer the company to greater heights.
Celebrating his silver anniversary with the company, Burke has reflected on how the industry has changed so dramatically over the last quarter of a century and the challenges it faces in the future.
"The direct mail, printing and finishing industry has catapulted to a whole new level in the last quarter of a century.
During my tenure at Moore Response, we have established strong relationships with some of the biggest names in direct mail and they have come to rely on our skills in creating direct mail formats that increase response rates.
The emergence of the internet and other technological advances has made the world smaller and the marketplace much more competitive.
There is endless choice and information overload today, which presents us with more challenges but also makes our industry more exciting," commented Burke.
He continued: "By taking advantage of innovative personalisation, printing and finishing capability, we have been able to propose mail packs that enable our clients to have a real doormat presence.
Moore Response Marketing has been established in the UK and Europe for over 17 years and, following our recent merger with RR Donnelley, we have at a stroke been able to extend the range of printing services we offer to our clients.
It's great being part of a dynamic and successful company and I am proud of our achievements over the past 25 years.".
