Strapping Performance At News Show
Mosca, supplier of strapping systems to the newspaper industry, is demonstrating the speed and reliability of its technology at Newstec 2005.
As Paul Barker, Newsquest's print manager explained: "We wanted a high quality machine to bring our strapping capability up to speed, but space was at a premium.
Mosca devised a system that took this into account without compromising on the efficiency of the supply chain," he added.
The installation comprises four lines, each incorporating a conveyor, an underwrapper to protect bottom copies and the Mosca RO-TAI-5 in-line cross-strapper.
Designed specifically for the newspaper industry, the RO-TAI-5 incorporates Mosca's airless, all-electric technology, which prevents the need for costly compressed air and its related maintenance requirements.
The airless system is an extension of Mosca's brushless motors, direct drive technology, which has already eliminated the use of gearboxes, clutches, pulleys and chains for long-term reliability and performance claimed the company.
