Fast Growing Newspaper's Specialist Strapping

A Mosca Direct product story

Irish News, Northern Ireland's fastest growing regional newspaper, is using specialist strapping equipment from Mosca as part of its investment in its mailroom.

Irish News, Northern Ireland's fastest growing regional newspaper, is using specialist strapping equipment from Mosca as part of its investment in its mailroom.

Based in Belfast, the new facility produces a number of regional titles in addition to Irish News.

The company required fast and reliable strappers to complement the efficiency of the production line and, with past experience of Mosca, production manager Dave Wilson recognised that it would make a good partner.

The Mosca installation comprises two RO-TAI-5 machines fully integrated in to Irish News' production lines and one Romp-4, Mosca's stand-alone automatic strapping machine.

The RO-TAI-5 is Mosca's machine for the newspaper industry, delivering what is claimed to be a stable presentation at up to 35 bundles per minute.

It incorporates Mosca's airless, all-electric technology, which eliminates the need for costly compressed air and its related maintenance requirements.

The airless system is an extension of Mosca's direct drive technology, which has already eliminated the use of gearboxes, clutches, pulleys and chains for long-term reliability and improved performance, said the company.
