Neopost has announced that its franking machines are compatible with UK company Parcelforce Worldwide's new service, Frankpay.

Neopost has announced that its franking machines are compatible with UK company Parcelforce Worldwide's new service, Frankpay.

Frankpay is said to allow any franking machine user to access all domestic and international Parcelforce Worldwide services via the web and pay for them via their franking machine.

That is said to offer customers complete control of all their mail and express parcel costs via their franking machine.

The service also offers franking machine users a GBP1 discount, per parcel, from the normal Parcelforce tariffs.

Simon Gourlay, director of logistics systems for Neopost UK, said: ''Parcelforce's Frankpay increases the services available from franking systems, offering time and date specific delivery services, parcel tracking and on-line support.

It allows our customers to automatically book a collection and print the relevant forms, avoiding unnecessary paperwork and phone calls.

Frankpay will help revolutionise the mailroom further.'' Tony Macnamara, external systems manager Parcelforce Worldwide, commented: ''Frankpay provides a range of benefits, from eradicating unnecessary invoices to offering customers the opportunity to track and trace their parcels to their final delivery address.

Customers can also take advantage of the automatic arrangement of parcel collection.'' Frankpay is also claimed to offer businesses a cost saving opportunity and an increase in convenience.

It also offers Neopost customers the opportunity to use a secure method of payment, their frank meter, and the ability to manage and track the postage expenditure, added the company.

"With services like Frankpay and the introduction of princing in proportion in August, the mail room is set to become more efficient and cost effective,'' said Gourlay.
