With the introduction of the UK Royal Mail's Pricing in Proportion (PiP) consumers and businesses are becoming progressively worried that they won't know the correct postage price for their mail.

With the introduction of the UK Royal Mail's Pricing in Proportion (PiP) only 13 days away, the increased awareness means consumers and businesses are becoming progressively worried that they won't know the correct postage price for their mail That is according to Neopost, the mailroom equipment and systems manufacturer, whihc said it is helping its customers by providing them with a Letter Size Guide, to help them calculate the new rate, under the PiP pricing structure that comes in to action on August 21

The Letter Guide is a 350mm ruler that demonstrates the new PiP mail pricing categories.

It defines the dimensions and weight for letters and large letter formats, listing the maximum size, thickness and weight.

It also incorporates two slits in the ruler so that the user can physically check the thickness before mailing.

Philippe Masson, Neopost's marketing director, said: ''From our survey of SMEs and large corporations, we're concerned that many businesses are still unprepared for PiP, even at this late stage.

At Neopost we are committed to making sure that our customers are ready for PiP.

Along with our telephone support line, we are offering our customers the opportunity to purchase the Letter Guide." He added: "At a cost of GBP3.99 plus VAT, customers can physically check and measure their mail before posting.

The aim of the Letter Guide is to help our customers quickly identify the correct category a mail item falls in to following the implementation of PiP.

In the last month thousands of businesses have bought the ruler, with no indication of sales slowing down just yet." The Letter Guide is claimed to be easy to use and store and is said to be cheaper than competing products on the market, for assisting with PiP postage calculation.
