Neopost is exhibiting at the National Postal Forum until March 28, in Washington, DC (USA) showing the new IJ-Dynamic Scale (IJ-DS) compliant scale and the new DS-80 folder inserter.

With the new US Postal Service (USPS) shape-based pricing structure, the size, thickness and weight of parcels will be taken in to consideration when determining postage.

The IJ-DS features a patented four-point detection system that automatically measures packages to correctly classify and rate outgoing mail based on the new 2007 postal rates, said Neopost.

Also as a result of the pricing structure, the shape of mail becomes increasingly important and changing mail from flats to letter formats will directly equate to postage savings, explained Neopost.

The DS-80 folder inserter is said to be a suitable system for users to change the shape of their mail and generate cost savings.

It is claimed to maintain an outgoing speed of 4,000 filled envelopes per hour and increases customer's mailroom efficiency and productivity, whilst reducing postal costs.

Additionally, the DS-80 provides the flexibility needed to handle any application, added the company.

Additionally, Neopost is showing one of its Friendship Navigator shipping and postal accounting system, as well as its Online Services.

Friendship Navigator is claimed to allow managers to take control of their operations, increase staff efficiency and reduce costs.

Online Services allows users to get the new postal rates downloaded automatically on to their postage metres, to keep track of all mailroom activities via a personalised web-based account.

That also includes email confirmations of sent and received parcels and postage usage by date, postal class and type of transaction, added Neopost.

Neopost is featuring at the National Postal Forum the SI-92 folder inserter, a new line of address printers, postal discounting software and the IJ-60 and IJ-110 digital mailing systems.

The company commented that all of its shipping and mailing systems offer high output, cost savings and flexibility for mailing and shipping applications.
