Neopost's Mail Piece Production Control (MPPC) for secured mail processing has been launched and is claimed to be easily implemented in to mail processing operations.

MPPC is a scanning hardware and software system, which is said to monitor mail piece insertion, enables reconciliation of missing documents and provides detailed production reports to guarantee mailing production integrity from print to insertion, added Neopost Extending Neopost's Printmachine output management software, the company said that MPPC provides folding and inserting monitoring and validation to support the needs of businesses for mailings that need high levels of confidentiality, time sensitiveness and regulatory compliance

The system, according to Neopost presents the document protection necessary to avoid serious liabilities, litigation and regulatory penalties because of non-compliance or confidentiality breaches.

According to Neopost, businesses can now safely and securely mail sensitive documents, such as health records, financial information and legal notices.

Mailing print stream enhancement begins with what is claimed to be a unique, non-intrusive barcode identity printed on each document.

The 2D tracking marks are said to minimise document formatting and printing requirements as barcodes fit within the address block.

Neopost added that MPPC validates inserted documents with barcode scanning hardware that reads each unique identity after a document is inserted through the window of the envelope.

The Integrity Control Dashboard software interface is said to allow each document to be identified in real time as they are inserted.

Document barcodes are compared in real-time to the original document print stream database, alerting users of any out-of-sequence, missing, duplicate, misread or invalid document discrepancies during production enabling reconciliation of missing, or damaged documents.

In those instances, MPPC will optionally pause the insertion process, allowing operators to resolve identified issues swiftly and effectively, added the company.

A hand-held scanner is included with MPPC to speed up reconciliation of missing, or damaged documents.

It enables operators to scan a single document after re-print and re-insertion.

The MPPC production run verification reports are said to provide a full audit trail by providing complete line-item status information for each production run providing date, time and status information for each recipient and document.

The proof of mail processing is said to take the risk out of mail production and protects organisations against the usually complex and potentially costly consequences of poor document quality.

Production processes are adapted to regulatory compliance, privacy and confidentiality policies.

Neopost added that enhancing and securing the print stream no longer requires IT assistance as MPPC supports a variety of data file formats (from text data to formatted documents, such as PDF) and manages the generation of the 2D barcode marks and printing of the documents.

Combined with Printmachine OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) technology and Neopost OMR capable folding and inserting technology, MPPC is said to provide optimal document security and integrity ensuring that all pages of a document stay together in the right order and that the document is correctly processed and inserted.

When used in conjunction with Printmachine software and desktop folding and inserting systems, Neopost added that MPPC provides a cost-effective mailing integrity system.
