Pageflex, a provider of web-to-print technology, and Nexpress Solutions, have signed an agreement whereby Peflex variable data publishing technology will be available to Nexpress customers.
Additionally, the two companies plan to collaborate on marketing and sales initiatives.
"We are extremely pleased to announce this agreement.
We are already working with Nexpress at several customer sites and I am confident that the combination of Peflex software, our VDX driver and output from the Nexpress 2100 digital press will create a powerful, high-quality web-to-print workflow," said Anna Chagnon, Pageflex's chief executive officer.
Peflex drives variable data designs in which elements on a page can flex and reposition based on designer-specified criteria to accommodate varying amounts of personalised content.
For example, when the length or size of custom content is different than the size of the box the content is flowing into, the box can expand in either the horizontal and vertical direction, to accommodate the content.
Designer-specified rules determine the maximum and minimum dimensions, as well as behaviour of the surrounding elements on the page claimed Nexpress.
The result is the ability to define templates that accommodate a wide range of variable content by flexing the page layout.
The products, including Peflex Mpower for variable data publishing, and Peflex.Edit for interactive, online document customisation, will be available for web-based demonstrations.
The Peflex VDX driver that is based on the ANSI PPML/VDX standard has been tested by Nexpress and has achieved the Nexpress qualified solution designation.
"Nexpress's strategy is to align itself with a select group of partners that bring significant, demonstrable value to the Nexpress portfolio.
Pageflex delivers significant value with a powerful platform that allows customers to design highly personalised printed materials that accommodate a high degree of flexibility and variability," said Chris Bondy, the vice president of professional services and solutions at Nexpress.
Several mutual customers have been using Pageflex technology with a VDX workflow in conjunction with their Nexpress 2100 presses since the release of the driver earlier this year.
With the magnitude of high-volume variable data printing in those businesses, Nexpress claimed that those customers have realised tremendous time savings with the combination of the Peflex software and the 2100 press in a VDX workflow.
