Visitors to Labelexpo saw Nipson's full line of digital production printers for the label industry, complete with variable data printing capability on a range of substrates.

This year, Nipson showcased its 1865 compact printer.

The Nipson family of digital production presses ranges from the Nipson 1865 compact printer to the high-volume Varypress 200 and 400.

Nipson presses feature non-heat flash toner fusing, which is claimed to be a flexible non-heat fusing technology that enables printing on practically any substrate, from the most fragile 14lb bond to heavy 140lb tag stock, as well as thin to heavy gauge films and foils.

Non-heat fusing is said by Nipson to virtually eliminate distortion, tearing, or peeling of pressure-sensitive labels and does not affect the gluing capabilities of the stock.

In addition, Nipson's printers are claimed to produce 600 dots per inch (dpi) quality, which is suitable for high density and 2D barcodes.

With Nipson's Varypress 400, label printers can integrate digital printing with traditional high-speed flexographic and offset presses for complete roll-to-roll or roll to finishing.

Those alternaive approaches are said to help label printers increase efficiency and add higher overall value to their products.

Nipson presses are used world wide by label printing companies, including Topflite Labels in the UK, Image Now and Moore Wallace in the USA and Datamail in France.

Alfons Buts, managing director of Nipson Digital Printing Systems, said: "Nipson is an ideal partner for efficiently integrating variable data printing in to any label production operation.

Today we offer benefits to a full range of label printing customers from the low-volume to mid-volume Nipson 1865 for proofing and short production runs, to the Varypress 200 and 400, for high-volume printing and integration with traditional printing press technologies.".
