Metal Detectable Labels
Norprint Labelling Systems Ltd has won a contract to supply over one million metal detectable labels each year to UK food giant, Northern Foods.
Norprint received the award in recognition of its security tagging system, the Nortag, which protects retail goods from theft.
The Nortag was recognised in the Queen's Award Innovation category, for its ability to offer retailers covert security, brand enhancement and also potentially offer logistics tracking.
As well as the Lord Lieutenant, the ceremony was attended by The High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, the Mayor and Mayoress of Boston and other Lincolnshire dignitaries, as well as representatives from Norprint's base of clients, its suppliers and its employees.
Following the official presentation, the Lord Lieutenant praised the Nortag, claiming that it would help to save retailers money by reducing theft.
She went on to say: "From my visit here today and looking at past performance, I don't think that it will be too long before we see another Queen's Award here at Norprint." Alex Evans, Norprint's managing director, said: "It has been an honour for us to have received a visit from one of her Majesty's representatives.
The visit is the perfect reward for my team, as it not only boosts the company's profile but also recognises the hard work and dedication that they have put in to the development of the Nortag.".
