Interactive seminars and special visitor features will be on offer to the visitor to Northprint 07 at the Harrogate Exhibition Centre (UK) from April 24 - 26.

Interactive seminars and special visitor features will be on offer to the visitor to Northprint 07 at the Harrogate Exhibition Centre (UK) from April 24 - 26 There is a programme of interactive business workshops aimed at printers and print buyers focusing on key subject areas within the print industry

The 30-minute workshops are said to offer best practice advice for business and will run from 10.00am - 5.00pm each day.

The topics will include an environmental update by printing and publishing industry consultant Clare Taylor, and as well as a session that will outline what can be done to be environmentally responsible, there will also be an update on the latest initiatives and regulations and how they affect businesses buying print, as well as printers.

There will be further sessions on the obligations and best practice aspects of environmental considerations, as well as an explanation of the carbon neutral initiatives.

'Protecting your brand' will be a workshop hosted by Matt Stevens, a director at Charterhouse, who will explore why brands should be protected and its ease, as well as examining the management of all the elements of a corporate identity effectively in a global environment - including images, colour and style across signage, advertising and brochures, for instance.

He will emphasise the importance and challenges of retaining consistent colour across a variety of applications - from web, to print and display) and print substrates,, together with steps to taking control and sharing images, logos and styles as part of an asset management system.

Ken Wright of Canon's essential business builder programme will discuss how to keep customers happy, with emphasis on what makes a good print buyer and a good printer and the aspects a print buyer looks for from a printer, together with showing how service boosts the bottom line and how companies can take clear steps to improving services.

Peter Lancaster of W2P will present a session on 'the power of digital', where he will examine the flexible benefits of versatile digital print in marketing campaigns and when digital printing should be chosen, together with web to print systems developments and their benefits.

He will also discuss how the effectiveness of direct mail campaigns could be increased by 20 per cent, whilst dwelling on the latest developments and what they mean to businesses.

The 'creative print opportunities' workshop will be headed by Gary Lasham, the managing director of Multigraphics, who will describe how Multigraphics has transformed its business to serve the POS/POP market, whilst explaining creative applications for a competitive industry, together with an overview of the latest innovative print techniques, combined with a brief look at what is coming over the horizon.

Northprint's organiser, IIR Exhibitions, said that seats for the workshops will be issued on a first come, first served basis as there is a limit of 40 places per session.
