Northprint exhibition to go ahead as usual

IIR Exhibitions said this year's Northprint exhibition will take place as usual, on 21-23 April in Harrogate, despite the recession.

IIR added that visitor registration for the event is already high.

A major focus of this year's show will be integrated digital print and finishing systems driven by flexible management and production software.

Digital press suppliers will display the latest colour technology, including Konica Minolta.

Konica will demonstrate high-speed, high-volume mono and colour printing with variable data and integral finishing.

Presstek will exhibit environmentally friendly systems for quick job turn-around, high quality colour printing, with the highlight being its automated 52DI digital offset landscape press.

Ricoh will show its latest high volume machines, including the Ricoh Pro C900.

IIR said visitors to Northprint will be able to evaluate web-to-print, production and business management software and many companies are incorporating environmental and waste monitoring into their systems.

For example, Imprint Business Systems' Evolution MIS management information system features full FSC and PEFC controls, estimating, production control and waste monitoring.

Presstek's Pathway is an online workflow and management system for digital printing.

Sefas Innovation will show personalised document management.

Satori and Tharstern will demonstrate the latest developments in their MIS products.

Northprint will also feature a free-to-attend topical seminar programme, which covers a variety of issues.

Among the topics covered will be 'How to Produce Best Quality Print - Colour Control is Central to Your Business', hosted by Alan Dresch of Mellow Colour.

Patrick Headley, transpromotional expert at GI Solutions, will present a session entitled 'How to Add Value to Your Business through Innovative Digital Print Services'.

Gary Best, strategic relationship director at CW Print, will present 'Creating Print Business Opportunities through Smart Marketing'.
