According to Objectif Lune, many businesses still print their invoices, statements and other documents on impact printers using data coming from a mainframe.
That method is costly and does not offer the flexibility to add personalised messages to communications or the re-purposing of data.
Furthermore, hard copies of all printed documents must be kept and stored for future reference.
The Autostore connector, combined with Planetpress Suite, a suite of software modules for creating and printing of transactional and promotional variable content documents, as well as offering automated distribution and workflow management capabilities, can allow users to optimise their entire document workflows and benefit from archiving and tracking functions, said the company.
Capturing data from the mainframe and using Planetpress Suite to create transactional documents such as invoices, customers can add personalised messages, such as promotions or targeted messages, print the desired number of copies, email the invoices to customers and send them by fax, if required, added Objectif Lune.
Simultaneously, a TIFF version of the invoices can be created and since Autostore uses OC and forms recognition, it can securely save the archived file in most business applications and enterprise databases.
Mike Beard, director of sales for Objectif Lune USA, said: "Giving customers the ability to bring their transactional communications to a new level and giving them the flexibility to efficiently archive and integrate documents in their business applications will allow them to reduce their costs and increase their productivity.".
