Software Collaboration Brings Workflow To MS Word

Customers using Microsoft Word will gain workflow capabilities for email, fax, archiving and print management features, due to a personalised documents development from Objectif Lune and Xpertdoc.

The two companies have formed a technological agreement that has created the integration of Objectif Lune's Planetpress Suite and Xpertdoc's Studio.

Objectif Lune and Xpertdoc are in the final stage of development with the new software and a beta version of the product is expected in the early summer.

The Studio software is used to generate statements, invoices, professional reports and business correspondence created with Microsoft Word, generating searchable and compressed documents, preserving system resources and maximising the return on the enterprise document assets, claimed the company.

Studio also supports conditional sections, numbered paragraphs, tables, footnotes and embedded graphics.

Planetpress Suite is Objectif Lune's software for transactional and transpromotional document production using variable data and offering workflow automation and email and fax output.

Commercialised worldwide by printer manufacturers and distributors, Planetpress Suite is said to produce and manage the production of personalised business correspondence with a strong presence in the transactional and transpromotional sector.

Objectif Lune said that the collaborative product will combine Planetpress Suite's strengths for business workflow automation, job handling and management with Xpertdoc Studio's features for easy design and Microsoft Word templates adjustment with variable data integration.

Objectif Lune will market the product worldwide to low-volume to mid-volume personalised print.

The company's chief executive officver, Didier Gombert, said: "Many businesses use Microsoft Word document templates to produce their business correspondence.

Documents such as invoices, insurance forms and business reports can easily be modified and adjusted to fit any business need.
