OCSL in Woking (UK) has launched the latest version of its Optimus 2020 management information system (MIS) to its user group.

OCSL in Woking (UK) has launched the latest version of its Optimus 2020 management information system (MIS) to its user group.

Sixty delegates from around the UK and Ireland attended the user group, which is held every six months.

"It was an extremely successful event and our new Version 18 of Optimus 2020 was greeted with great enthusiasm.

The new version has a range of additional features that expand the functionality and efficiency of the product," said OCSL group managing director Nicola Bisset.

Main features in Version 18 can be added free by Optimus 2020 users operating OCSL's maintenance agreement, while there are also further options available for those looking to extend their MIS facilities beyond the core modules.

New features include complete integration with the Goldmine customer relationship management (CRM) package, for which OCSL has recently been appointed the leading graphic arts reseller.

There is a new database that offers an overall performance improvement, particularly in the area of creating reports.

Other new functions include the ability to create snapshots of a PDF file and store them with the electronic job bag, which makes it easy for anyone involved in producing the job to check the actual content, including images claimed OCSL.

Repeat jobs can be found more quickly and production time saved at several stages.

Someone on the shop floor could even use a web browser to check details within the electronic job ticket of the job being worked on.

"Converting an Optimus 2020 system to the new Version 18 can take as little as a few hours at a customer site.

From the fantastic reaction at our user group we expect a large percentage of our Optimus 2020 customer to upgrade during the next couple of months," added Bisset.

OCSL has recently announced several major partnerships, including Heidelberg and Frontrange.
