The newly launched Varioprint Titanium digital printer range from Oce has earned the five-star exceptional rating from BERTL.

The newly launched Varioprint Titanium digital printer range from Oce has earned the five-star exceptional rating from BERTL.

The independent analysis company concluded that the Oce Varioprint Titanium 2100 and Oce Varioprint Titanium 2110 systems surpass other digital production printers in terms of quality, productivity, simplicity and operating costs.

That enables corporate printrooms and commercial printshops to produce higher volumes in multiple and extended shifts, said Oce.

Varioprint Titanium and the supporting Oce Prisma workflow software were tested by BERTL under a non-disclosure agreement prior to the launch of the machines in September.

BERTL's review reported: "Oce promotes a productivity philosophy that combines ease of use, reliability, throughput and quality.

The company has worked towards these objectives by designing the media handling, transport system, imaging system, and toner application process that make up the Oce Copy Press printing system.

The devices have a higher quality rating, faster RIP and print speed and improvements with a new integrated high-end controller." Analysts from BERTL highlighted the systems' ease of operation and commented: "Oce has improved upon its Prisma software, which is still simple to navigate, robust with capabilities and features, and falls in to Oce's focus on ease of use.

It is obvious that from the point of command, either at the front end or control panel, what used to require three people for major production now requires only one operator with the Varioprint 2100 and 2110 Titanium printers.

The savings are obvious before installation of either of these digital production printers." The report continued: "Technology was supposed to make our world more simplified.

Digital production - with all the different devices, software solutions, and calibration issues - has become anything but.

The Varioprint Titanium line is a breath of fresh air in this regard, with a simplified approach to the complexities of digital production." And the report explained: "The Varioprint 2100 Titanium and Varioprint 2110 Titanium digital production printers offer many possible production options with the extensive Oce and third-party finishing range.

They can meet a wide variety of applications to satisfy most customers' needs.

With the new technological advancement of a high-end controller integrated in to the engine itself, it is obvious that the Titanium line is a force to be reckoned with.

Print and copy productivity are up to par with the usual high quality BERTL has come to expect from Oce." Oce said that no paper jams occurred during BERTL's testing.

The input capacity of 10,200 A4 or letter and output capacity of 10,500 A4 or letter allows uninterrupted, unattended production of more than three hours.

BERTL also evaluated Oce's Doc Works Pro and related tools that are part of the Prisma suite, the preferred front-end software for Oce cutsheet production systems.

They use Adobe PDF workflow that is compliant with open, market-standard document formats to streamline job submission, acceptance, preparation, production, finishing and archiving for Oce and non-Oce digital production printers.

The company added that the goal is to improve printroom and printshop efficiency and integrate the Oce Varioprint 2100 Titanium and Varioprint 2110 Titanium with third party proprietary archives and printers.

BERTL is a source of independent product evaluation reports, product specifications, and comparative analyses on digital imaging devices, software and systems.

BERTL's reports, in-depth articles, customer satisfaction research, awards, and product ratings are conducted entirely at BERTL's expense for the benefit of its international subscriber base.

BERTL said that its primary focus is on user workflow applications of imaging systems for workgroup, office and production environments.

BERTL also recently launched a Digital Production Division to review digital presses, production and wide format devices.
